Subscription billing is in preview. Plus and Pro pricing will be available in a future release.
Questions, answered.
Do I need a subscription to use Egg?
No. The browser, the agent, vertical tabs, profiles, sync, the encrypted vault, skills, MCP, browser automation — all work on the free tier. A subscription only adds Egg’s hosted cloud services.
Do you charge for the LLM tokens my agent uses?
No. You bring your own API key for Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or OpenRouter, and the agent calls those providers directly — no proxy, no relay, no markup. You can also run local models via Ollama with no cloud cost at all.
What does “cloud features” actually mean?
A handful of capabilities that need a server: hosted image generation (Imagen), HD text-to-speech, cloud speech-to-text, web search and scraping with higher rate limits, and remote code sandboxes for the agent. Free includes a small monthly allowance of these so you can try them.
Is my data sent to your servers?
Only when you explicitly invoke a cloud feature (e.g. generate an image with Imagen). Browsing, history, bookmarks, passwords, passkeys, agent memory, workspaces — all stay on your devices. Cross-device sync uses a relay, but the relay only ever sees opaque ciphertext.
Can I switch tiers or cancel?
Yes. Change tier or cancel from Settings at any time. Cloud features stop at the end of the billing period; your local data is unaffected.
Is there a team or business plan?
Not yet. We’re focused on individuals first. If you need to deploy Egg across a team, contact us.
